Of course, if you are not used to exercising regularly, once you do, you will automatically lose weight. However, if you need or want to lose more weight, you might want to change your diet as well.

As I have mentioned before in another post, the first calories that we burn are carbohydrates and only when our body runs out of carbohydrates and is in need of more energy it starts burning fat.

 

So, if you follow this simple principle, your diet is quite straightforward:

  • consume less fat (e.g. butter, cheese, red meat, fish, eggs)
  • less processed carbohydrates (e.g. bread, pasta)
  • no extra sugar (e.g. alcohol, juices, energy drinks, sweets)

Careful now, I did not say to completely stop eating food that contains any sort of fat or sugar, your body still needs them. Just eat more vegetables and fruit and be patient and you will lose weight and feel amazing!
